TeliaSonera and Telenor have submitted new concessions to the European Commission on their proposed mobile joint venture in Denmark. According to the EC competition department's website, the proposal was submitted 12 August. No further details were provided.
In late June the European Commission sent a statement of objections to the companies, expressing concern about the impact on competition from the deal. The EC has set a deadline of 07 October for its final decision on the merger.
The proposed joint venture would combine the number two and number three operators in the Danish mobile market. It would create the largest player both in terms of revenue and number of subscribers, followed by a similar-sized TDC and smaller 3.
