Telenor, Telia Denmark announce joint venture executives

Telenor Denmark and TeliaSonera Denmark said that Hilde Tonne from Telenor Group's executive management has been appointed as CEO for their forthcoming joint venture. Telia Denmark CEO Soren Abildgaard and CFO Dennis Kilian have been appointed as deputy CEO and CFO respectively. Tonne has been a member of Telenor Group's executive management team since 2007, and head of group industrial development since September 2011. Abildgaard has been CEO of Telia Denmark since January 2011. Kilian has been CFO of Telia Denmark since March 2013.

They will commence in their new positions when the joint venture is established, once the EU Commission grants approval, which is expected during second half of 2015. Prior to that, Tonne will start as programme manager on 01  August for a small Copenhagen-based team of employees from TeliaSonera and Telenor which is preparing for the merger of the two Danish business units.

TeliaSonera, Telenor offer concessions in Danish deal

TeliaSonera and Telenor have submitted new concessions to the European Commission on their proposed mobile joint venture in Denmark. According to the EC competition department's website, the proposal was submitted 12 August. No further details were provided. Telia Denmark starts implementing carrier aggregation

Telia Denmark said that following the merger of its network with that of Telenor Denmark, it is now turning to carrier aggregation to improve its service even more. It said the maximum theoretical download speed will rise from the current 150 Mbps to 300 Mbps on networks with LTE-Advanced technology. Customers will need smartphones that are compliant with carrier aggregation technology, but there is no need to activate it or pay extra for the service.

Telia Denmark Q2 local currency revenue hit by price strain

TeliaSonera said net sales in Denmark in the second quarter went up by 4.2 percent to SEK 1.448 billion from SEK 1.389 billion a year earlier. In local currency, service revenues fell 2.9 percent excluding acquisitions and disposals amid lower billed revenues, as good customer intake could not compensate for the intense price pressure and reduced interconnect and roaming revenues.
