Telindus ziet groeimogelijkheden in Verre Oosten
According to Telindus CEO Ronald Everaert the expected improvement of the European telecom market is a fact in a number of countries, but overall Europe is still lagging behind. As a result Telindus had to take a number of actions in order to improve the company figures. This resulted not only into a change of the management board of the company and in a redefinition of the strategy but also in some cuts in activities. Telindus is going to invest more in technology. The focus of Telindus will be on IT and data integration, on outsourcing and on security and surveillance. In contrast to the stagnation in Europe Telindus reports golden opportunities especially in China. After a visit to Telindus' daughter company in Asia, Paul Everaert is convinced that China could become the main market for Telindus in the near future. "We are always talking about our pan-European activities but to my opinion our focus will be more and more directed to Asia," says Paul Everaert. "I have two questions on my mind after visiting China: will this be an opportunity or a threat. At this moment I am convinced we face a tremendous opportunity. We do have an unbelievable number of customers in China. The size of these customers are beyond our imagination." "An example: one of our customers is the second largest mobile operator of China with 150 million subscribers. This company has become an established customer of Telindus. This example shows what the size of this market is," Everaert says. Telindus noticed a huge demand fort consulting in China next to education and security. According to Everaert Telindus has a lot to offer in all these fields especially when you look at the possibilities of optimizing the Chinese network. "So I believe this is good news. Next to this I can announce an order Telindus got from the Chinese Postal Office. This order is just $3.5 million (EUR 3.0 million) but there is more to come. Telindus will be managing its network because the Chinese Postal Office is also a banking organization," says Everaert. Next to this the Belgian CEO of Telindus sees also great opportunities in countries like Vietnam. Telindus is aiming on managing the fiber connection between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the former Saigon.
