Telkom Kenya brings Loon service on stream

Monday 13 July 2020 | 11:14 CET | News
Telkom Kenya now has the potential to expand its internet subscribers by 4.8 million after it launched the Loon service in partnership with Alphabet. At least ten of 35 balloons have gone live, covering 50,000 square kilometres or 10 percent of the country. They use the stratosphere at an altitude of 18 km to 25 km to create an aerial wireless network with up to 4G speeds.
