Friday 22 January 2021 | 10:41 CET | News
Telkom Kenya says the technology pilot with Alphabet's Loon will be coming to an end on 01 March following the announcement that Loon is being wound down as a company globally. Telkom said the intent of the Loon pilot was to help bridge the digital divide by providing 4G coverage using floating cell towers in areas that were difficult to reach and connect via terrestrial methods, and areas that were not commercially viable for service providers.
