Telkom Kenya to get USD 40 mln loan from European Investment Bank for network upgrade

Telkom Kenya is set to receive a USD 40 million loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to boost its infrastructure and mobile money network, according to Daily Nation. The EIB said the loan is still going through appraisal and will only form part of the funding for Telkom Kenya's USD 92 billion network expansion. EIB said that Telkom Kenya will invest in its mobile grid to improve its coverage and quality of service, and will launch an open system mobile financial service.
