Telkom mulls sale of phone tower network - report

South African fixed line operator Telkom is considering a sale of its tower network, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter. They told it that a potential Telkom tower sale would fetch USD 500 million to USD 1 billion. According to the report, Telkom is working with Accenture on the sale and bids are expected as soon before 13 February. Companies like IHS Holding of Nigeria and Helios Towers Africa are expected to show an interest in the towers.
