Telkom to launch Wi-Fi for taxis

Thursday 12 June 2014 | 09:52 CET | News
Fixed line operator Telkom has tied up with the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) to provide free Wi-Fi connections at taxi ranks and in mini-bus taxis around the country. Santaco CEO Nkululeko Buthelezi said the project is part of an improvement of the group's taxi service. It is believed that the service will be for a limited period, and will launch as soon as 12 June, BusinessTech reported. Buthelezi said that the cab organisation would allow partners and stakeholders to advertise using the platform, in order to pay for the service.
