Telmex brings 100 Gbps to 'digital village' in Mexico City

Telmex announced the installation of a major switching centre in the centre of Mexico City to provide 100 Gbps connectivity for the upcoming 'Digital Village Telcel 4GLTE - Infinitum' conference there. On Zocalo square in the capital city, the company is constructing the "brain" of the system, including processors, switches and routers with a total capacity exceeding 7.36 Tbps. It's also rolling out 125km of fibre and Ethernet cable to connect conference participants around the world. The Digital Village runs from 10-26 July and will include a showcase of Telcel technologies, local start-ups
