Telstra launches 'continuous connection' for subsea cable with Ericsson, Ciena

Friday 12 July 2019 | 09:10 CET | News
Australian operator Telstra, together with Ericsson and Ciena, have launched the so-called 'continuous connection' for the Telstra subsea cabling. Using Ciena's GeoMesh Extreme service, Telstra reports it is now able to build an 'always on' service that reconnects interrupted subsea cable traffic in minutes, not hours. This is expected to create automatic reconnection and increase resiliency on Telstra routes from Singapore to Hong Kong, Hong Kong to Japan and Japan to Singapore.
