Telstra tests LTE-V2X for vehicle communications

Telstra announced a trial in partnership with Cohda Wireless of LTE Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology on its 4G network in South Australia. The trial in the past week was focused on Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication, allowing cars to interact with roadside infrastructure to help improve traffic and safety. V2X can also be used with other cars and vehicles on the road. The trial just completed in South Australia confirms that 4G can support these applications, Telstra said.
