Telstra to conduct stadium LTE-B trial in Melbourne

Australian telecommunications carrier Telstra will conduct a stadium trial of LTE Broadcast technology (LTE-B) during the T20 international cricket match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 31 January. The trial will be conducted with network partner Ericsson with content provided by Channel Nine. The trial will stream three channels of dedicated content to selected participants using LTE-B enabled smartphones with specialised device firmware provided by Samsung. This trial follows initial LTE-B trials in October 2103.
