Tencent pulls blockbuster game PUBG in China, launches local approved alternative

China's Tencent shut down its test version of online multiplayer battle royale game "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)" in China and shifted users to a similar, more patriotic video game, writes Reuters. The local game is called 'Game for peace' and unlike PUBG, has regulatory approval to generate revenue. The new anti-terrorism-themed game gained monetisation approval in April.
