Teo purchase of Omnitel may not need competition approval

Wednesday 7 October 2015 | 23:20 CET | News
The Lithuanian Competition Council cannot give a response yet as to whether the planned acquisition of 100 percent of mobile operator Omnitel by fixed operator Teo requires its clearance, reports Vz.lt. Teo considers that approval is not necessary, as neither the fixed nor the mobile market share will increase because of the acquisition. Both companies are controlled by TeliaSonera. The watchdog considers that the final decision will be taken after evaluating all the conditions related to the deal.
