Tesco drops phone plans to focus on Hudl 2 tablet - report

Wednesday 10 September 2014 | 10:40 CET | News
UK retailer Tesco has dropped plans to launch its own smartphone and will focus instead on tablets, Mobile News reports. Tesco previously said it would introduce an own-brand smartphone by the end of the year. It was expected to be similar to a Samsung Galaxy S5 and run Android. Tesco now states that it may look at phone options at a later date. The company has sold over 500,000 Hudl tablets in under a year. The Hudl2 will be launched in the next few weeks. The upgraded product's specifications have not been disclosed.
