Thailand to auction 5G spectrum in February 2020

Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) plans to complete its auction for 56 licences for 5G spectrum in early 2020. The regulator aims to grant 5G licences in February, so that auction winners can start the network rollout in March 2020. Thailand will auction multiple spectrum bands at the same time, including the remaining 700MHz and 1800MHz bandwidths, as well as the 2,600MHz and 26GHz, local newspaper The Nation reports, citing NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tantasith.
