Thales, Gemalto finalise regulatory clearance in US, expect Russia approval in March

Thales and Gemalto announced that their recent agreement with the antitrust division of the US Department of Justice has received the necessary court approval. This brings to twelve the number of regulatory approvals obtained to date, out of the fourteen required to finalise their planned merger. The two companies have already received antitrust clearances in China, Israel, New Zealand, South Africa, Turkey, the European Union, Australia and Mexico, alongside clearances relating to foreign investments in Australia, Canada and the US.
