Third of DSL households still have slow connection - union

Speeds over DSL internet connections have improved over the past year, but a large share of consumers are still experiencing "slow" internet, of less than 25 Mbps, according to the Dutch consumers union (Consumentenbond). It found that 34 percent of households with DSL have a maximum speed of 25 Mbps, meaning a fairly large group has yet to profit from KPN's upgrades of the copper network. Just over 30 percent of this group said they have had a speed upgrade, compared to around 80 percent of households with speeds of 50-99 Mbps and over half of those with 100 Mbps or more.
