Thuraya sponsors UAE's Sir Bu Nair sailing race

Thuraya will be the official telecommunications sponsor for the second year of the Sir Bu Nair Dhow Race taking place in the UAE on 28 May. During the race, the media reporters will be deploying its satellite broadband service Thuraya IP to provide real-time updates of news, videos and photos of the long-distance 60ft sailing event. Thuraya said its network will enable the media access to uninterrupted broadband services throughout the race which extends from Sir Bu Nair Island to Mina Seyahi. Thuraya's IP terminal supports 384 Kbps streaming IP and 444 Kbps standard IP. Dubai-based service
