Tigo seeks to acquire rest of Zantel

Mic Tanzania, trading as Tigo, has written to the Fair Competition Commission (FCC) seeking regulatory approval to acquire the remaining shares of Zantel and its subsidiary Telesis Tanzania, reports the Citizen. Under the agreement, the Zanzibar government will transfer its 15 percent stake in Zantel to Mic Tanzania, giving the company 99.99 percent of outstanding shares in the telecom firm.
