Tigo-Une hits 640 Mbps in first Colombian 5G tests

Colombian operator Tigo-Une (Millicom) has begun trialling 5G technology in the country for the first time in indoor tests conducted with Huawei. The partners tested beamforming and Massive MIMO technologies on Tigo-Une's network, connecting several devices simultaneously at speeds of up to 640 Mbps, achieving a spectral efficiency of around 32 Mbps per MHz. The operator added that it will commence the outdoor phase of the trial during the first half of the year.
