TIM Brasil, MediaTek and Ericsson complete 5G carrier aggregation pilot

TIM Brasil and suppliers Ericsson and MediaTek conducted a pilot in the Brazilian city of Itajuba (Minas Gerais) with carrier aggregation in 5G standalone architecture. They used TDD and FDD modulation simultaneously and based on distinct numerologies. The aim of the tests was to measure the capacity to extend coverage. The pilot used TIM's network infrastructure, MediaTek's Dimensity 1100 chipset and Ericsson's AIR 3239 5G radio.
