TIM demos first 5G applications in San Marino

Wednesday 23 May 2018 | 13:39 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has announced the launch of the first 5G-enabled applications and the first millimetere wave (mmWave) 5G mobile test device in Italy at an event in the Republic of San Marino. The operator last year signed an MoU with San Marino to convert the micro-state into the first nation in Europe to have a 5G network and it has now kicked off what it describes as the operational stage of 5G testing with the definition of a plan to upgrade the mobile network in collaboration with Nokia and to launch the first next generation services.
