TIM invests EUR 2 mln in Vasto fibre, LTE-A rollout

Thursday 25 May 2017 | 10:47 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) has activated a fibre-optic and 4G network in the coastal resort of Vasto in the central Abruzzo region in a total investment of around around EUR 2 million. The FTTC service has already been activated in around 11,000 households after 39 kilometres of cable were rolled out to connect 102 street cabinets. Customers in the connected areas can now access the internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. TIM also announced that customers in many parts of Vasto can access its LTE-A service, called TIM 4G Plus, with speeds that are twice as fast as its regular 4G service.
