TIM, Open Fiber in talks to share FTTH assets - report

Friday 9 November 2018 | 09:22 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) is in talks with wholesale-only operator Open Fiber to use their respective fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) assets, according to unnamed sources cited by Reuters. The news comes after TIM's CEO Amos Genish said the company was open to talks with Open Fiber about merging each other's networks after the former incumbent launched the process to separate its fixed network into a separate company (NetCo). "They are working on commercial agreements that do not, however, envisage a merger or integration of the networks," said one of the sources of the negotiations with Open Fiber.
