TIM says no basis for govt to use 'golden power' over company

The growing influence of France's Vivendi in the direction of Telecom Italia (TIM) doesn't imply the effective control of its strategic assets, according to an independent opinion by two Italian lawyers sent by the operator to the Italian government, reports Il Sole 24 Ore. The absence of such control means the government doesn't have grounds to apply the so-called 'golden power' rule to veto any changes in control or ownership in strategic sectors like communications
