TIM to hike prices in exchange for dropping 28-day bills - report

Tuesday 24 October 2017 | 10:43 CET | News
Telecom Italia (TIM) is considering the possibility of raising fixed-line subscription fees for its customers to compensate for a commitment to drop its controversial 28-day billing practice, reports Italian daily Il Messaggero. The move follows a meeting between TIM's newly-appointed CEO Amos Genish and Italy's industry minister Carlo Calenda which the latter described as "positive and productive". Genish is said to have promised Calenda to end TIM's practice of charging fixed line customers on a 28-day basis rather than on a monthly basis.
