TIM, Vodafone accused of hiking prices after dropping 28-day bills

Italian consumer association UNC has accused Telecom Italia (TIM) and Vodafone Italia of applying unjustified increases to mobile and fixed-line subscription fees to compensate for the requirement to drop their controversial 28-day billing practices, reports website Key4Biz. The UNC has written to communications regulator AGCOM and antitrust watchdog AGCM to complain about misleading information and unfair trade practices on the part of Vodafone and Tim, who have communicated a rise of 8.6 percent in fixed and mobile subscription rates to coincide with the return to monthly billing.
