TIM won't appeal against government's 'golden power' decree

Monday 23 October 2017 | 13:34 CET | News
Neither Telecom Italia (TIM) nor its leading shareholder Vivendi intend to lodge an appeal against the Italian government's move to activate the so-called "golden power" rule of 2012, reports Il Sole 24 Ore. The companies could, in principle, lodge an appeal before the Lazio regional administrative court against the government decree requiring TIM to install state-backed directors and a special appointee to handle security matters. However, both Vivendi and TIM fear potentially harsher remedies and have decided to collaborate in full with Rome, said the report.
