Time Warner sells Atlanta TV station

Tuesday 28 February 2017 | 11:13 CET | News
Time Warner has agreed to sell a TV station in Atlanta in an attempt to avoid FCC review of its planned merger with AT&T. Meredith Corp will take over WPCH-TV for USD 70 million, Reuters reports. AT&T said previously that it expects to be able to bypass the Federal Communications Commission as it would not seek to transfer any Time Warner licences. The station that Time Warner is selling is its only FCC-regulated broadcast station. Meredith has operated WPCH for Time Warner since 2011. The AT&T and Time Warner is still subject to competition clearance from the Justice Department.
