Time Warner to dissolve Comcast partnerships
Time Warner is set to start unwinding its two partnerships with Comcast by Q4-2003 to pave the way for new cable plans. Comcast controls 21% of Time Warner Cable and shares two JVs for cable systems in Texas and Kansas City. Time Warner is selling Warner Music for $2.6 billion, leaving it with funds to target the lucrative cable market. It will use the proceeds of the sale of buy Comcast's 21% stake in Time Warner Cable.
