Toshiba, Western Digital spar around memory unit sale

Toshiba CEO Satoshi Tsunakawa has said the company has the right to sell its memory-chip business, including a stake in a joint venture with Western Digital, even if the US company is not in accord, the Wall Street Journal reported. The CEO made the statements during a new conference in Tokyo after Western Digital said it was filing a request for binding arbitration to prevent the sale from going forward.
