TOT, CAT asked to establish infrastructure funds

Thailand's ICT minister has outlined plans for the two state-owned telecommunications companies to establish infrastructure funds. ICT minister Anudith Nakornthap has asked TOT and CAT Telecom to set-up infrastructure funds to manage their network assets and facilitate a shift to becoming network service providers, the Bangkok Post reports. Both companies rely heavily on concession revenues, which are set to end as concession contracts expire and revenues will be required to be passed on to the state from the end of this year. The minister said that the two companies would hold a majority
