TOT to create fund for underground cable project - report

Thai state-owned operator TOT plans to create a telecom infrastructure fund to finance the removal of its overhead cable lines across the country, and their replacement with underground cabling, local newspaper. TOT is now in the process of hiring a consultant to evaluate its cable assets nationwide. Following this evaluation, TOT will set up the infrastructure fund, The Nation reports, citing an unnamed TOT executive. The underground cable project is in the line with the government's plan to move all telecom cable lines underground in the Bangkok metropolitan area and other major cities
