Trump bans US investors from putting money into firms linked with China's military

Friday 13 November 2020 | 11:01 CET | News
Citing risks to national security, US President Trump has issued an executive order forbidding US firms and people from investing into companies with ties to the Chinese military, citing national security, the New York Times reported. The order will apply to 31 Chinese companies including tech firms China Mobile, China Telecom, Huawei and Inspur, as well as Sinochem Group, Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology, China Railway Construction and Aviation Industry Corporation of China. Trump said investing in these companies was helping China fund its military ambitions.
