Trump delays some China tariffs in move industry group CTA calls 'one step forward, two steps back'

US consumer tech industry group CTA said that while the tariff delay was good news for US businesses and consumers, the government's "one-step-forward, two-steps-back" policy does nothing to calm uncertainty in supply chains. US consumer tech paid an additional USD 1.8 billion in tariffs in August, including over USD 124 million in tariffs on products critical to 5G deployment, according to new data from CTA, compiled and analysed by The Trade Partnership. Since July 2018, Section 301 tariffs on China have cost the US consumer technology almost USD 14 billion, including over USD 1.3 billion
