TSF, Inmarsat set up satellite internet at Kathmandu airport

Inmarsat-sponsored Telecoms Sans Frontieres (TSF) has installed a high-speed satellite BGAN internet connection at Kathmandu International Airport shortly after touching down in Nepal on 28 April. The NGO worked with urban search and rescue (USAR) teams from around the world on the installation. Using BGAN, TSF is creating a Wi-Fi environment within the camp that will ensure the off-site operation coordination centre (OSOCC) dedicated to search and rescue can coordinate life-saving relief efforts.
