Spanish social network Tuenti reports its mobile service has exceeded 507 million page views in the fourth quarter of 2009. Tuenti Movil is the social network's version for mobile phones. During this year's first quarter, Tuenti Movil saw over 1.19 billion page views, which represents a 136 percent growth versus the same period last year. The growth was mainly led by Tuenti Movil's photo upload service, which saw a 155 percent traffic increase year-on-year. More than 30,000 customers installed the Tuenti application on their mobile phones per week in Q1. According to a Tuenti survey, around 60 percent of mobile phone users would change their handset for one that had the Tuenti Movil application pre-loaded. Tuenti targets over 500,000 users of its mobile application by mid-June. Around 500,000 users have subscribed to the TuentiSMS service, up by 180 percent in the first quarter. The increase was mainly due to the partnership agreements signed by the social network with mobile operators Vodafone, Movistar, Simyo and Blau, Tuenti said. The TuentiSMS service enables users to receive free SMS notifications on their mobile phone every time changes occur in their Tuenti account.
