TV5 Monde to launch ad-funded streaming service in September

Francophone TV network TV5 Monde plans to launch an international streaming service in September, reports Le Figaro quoting CEO Yves Bigot. France Televisions, which holds a 49 percent stake in the broadcaster, has been working on the project alongside its other Canadian, Belgian and Swiss shareholders. Named TV5 Monde+, the subscription-free service will distribute a wide range of French language programmes to registered users, using an ad-funded business model.
