Twitter quarterly results better than forecast

Twitter reported third-quarter revenues up 58 percent year-on-year to USD 569 million, better than its outlook of USD 545-560 million for the quarter. Excluding currency effects, revenue rose 64 percent. Adjusted EBITDA doubled year-on-year to USD 142 million, also better than expected, while the net loss narrowed to USD 132 million or 20 cents a share from USD 175 million or 29 cents a share a year ago. Twitter's active user base rose to an average 320 million per month, up 11 percent year-over-year and compared to 316 million in the previous quarter.
