Two thirds of Germans use payment platform services – Bitkom

While buying on account remains the most popular option for internet shopping in Germany, online services like Paypal or Amazon Payments are almost on a par, a new study from digital association Bitkom has found. The representative survey by Bitkom found that 70 percent of Germans have purchased goods 'on account' online. Just behind this rate, 67 percent of respondents said they had used Paypal or a similar service. Direct debit has been used by 47 percent of respondents, while a credit card was used by 43 percent.
