UAE's TRA gives advice on safe social media use

UAE's Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (TRA) has advised social media users in general and parents in particular to avoid compromising their privacy. They should use of strong passwords, carefully read the terms and conditions for granting permission to smartphone applications, and children should not to accept friend requests from strangers. Parents should discourage minors from sharing their geographical location, personal information and photographs, to protect them from blackmail.
