Uber, Arabnet team up to pitch start-ups

Uber Technologies has joined with Arabnet to launch the second UberPitch sponsorship competition for start-ups, Gulf News reported. The 2016 competition has expanded to cover 11 Middle East cities, namely Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Doha, Manama, Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Alexandria and Casablanca. Applicants must be digital start-ups less than a year old, with fewer than 25 employees and less than USD 2 million investment. Qualifying applications will be offered a chance to pitch their firm to investors during a 7-minute journey on 16 April.
