UBS launches Twint m-payments app

Friday 21 April 2017 | 12:44 CET | News
Swiss bank UBS has launched an app for the mobile payment system Twint, allowing customers to make payments with their phone and have the amount deducted directly from their bank or credit card account. UBS is the second bank, after ZKB earlier this month, to launch an app for Twint. The apps are available for Android and iOS devices and are expected to launch by early summer also for customers of BCV, Credit Suisse, PostFinance and Raiffeisen.

Twint works to make payments at Coop and Interdiscount, Selecta vending machines and at more than 1,000 online shops such as Digitec, Brack, Microspot and Galaxus. In addition to retail payments, users can make direct person-to-person transfers. Existing users of UBS Paymit, which was merged with Twint last year, have been automatically migrated to the new app.
