Ubuntu drops convergence and phones in favour of IoT, cloud

Canonical, the open-source software firm behind Ubuntu, announced it is abandoning development of phone and convergence products due to weak demand. The company plans to concentrate instead on the growing cloud and IoT sectors and its core desktop operating system.
