
Ucom leads first Netflix speed index in Japan

Netflix has released its first ISP speed index for Japan, following the streaming service's launch in the country last month. Japan came 11th out of all Netflix countries with an average download speed of 3.62 Mbps. Ucom was the fastest provider with an average speed of 3.99 Mbps, followed by K-Opticom with 3.88 Mbps, So-net at 3.85 Mbps and Asahi Net and NTTPC InfoSphere each at 3.81 Mbps. NTT came 7th with an average peed of 3.73 Mbps, IIJ was in eighth place at 3.70 Mbps, Softbank scored 12th at 3.54 Mbps and KDDI was 13th place with 3.51 Mbps. In total Netflix measured 16 ISPs in Japan.
