Ugandan mobile money transaction values rise 19% in year to June

Mobile money transactions grew by 19.3 percent to UGX 79.8 trillion for the year ending 30 June, according to the Bank of Uganda, The Independent reported. Of this, UGX 40.7 trillion was recorded from January to June 2020. The bank's deputy governor Michael Atingi-Ego said that active users of internet and mobile banking platforms rose by 36.7 percent and 46.9 percent respectively during the year to June.
