UK accounting watchdog starts probe of BT auditor

The UK's Financial Reporting Council has started an investigation into the audits by PricewaterhouseCoopers of BT's financial statements. The accounting regulator is looking at BT's figures from the past three financial years, following BT's announcement of accounting irregularities at its Italian operations. PwC was BT's auditor at the time; the company has since switched to KPMG.
