UK Autodrive group gets green-light for open road tests

The UK's largest trial of connected and autonomous vehicle technology has been given the green light to move out onto city streets, after completing its final set of private test track demonstrations. One of the first projects will be a system where a fire truck communicates its position over the mobile network. Participants include Jaguar Land Rover, Ford, Thales and Tata Motors European Technical Centre, as well as the Open University and Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.
