UK government confirms plan to mirror EU NIS directive

The UK government has confirmed its plan to mirror European Union rules regulating operators of critical online services ahead of its planned exit from the EU. The rules set out in the 2016 NIS Directive currently apply to non-EU operators and will apply to EU operators 20 days after the UK quits the bloc, if Brexit happens, the government said.
